Santa Barbara, Saturday morning.

This was a spur-of-the-moment last-minute trip to Boston for a night of sightseeing and to gain enough frequent flyer miles to make a higher status in United's program.

San Francisco.

I would have gone through LAX, to Oakland, to Washington Dulles, to Boston. But thanks to the security breach chaos in LA they rerouted me through SFO on a direct flight to BOS.

Boston at night

Arriving around 8 PM, I had until the next morning to see what I could see.

I rode the T to Cambridge. After eating a great salmon dinner at Legal Seafoods, I saw The Wrens play at Middle East.

After the show, I left for a several hour walk around Cambridge and Boston, with lots of great photo opportunities, and chances to practice shooting in low-light. I used a tripod and experimented with all the manual settings on my camera.
